RENSday lunch marshmallow tossing competition. We had some pretty competitive and talented kids take on the challenge...and they had a little fun while they were doing it.

The Shawnee Heights High School Marching Thunderbirds earned the following honors at the Neewollah Parade and Band Festival:
- Grand Champion First Runner-Up (2nd Place) in the marching band competition.
- Superior Ratings from adjudicators for their competitive marching show, “Infectious.”
- Outstanding Drum Majors in Their Class: Taylor Carabio, Kendal Fluke, and Jillian Goetz.
Congratulations to all 127 members of the Marching Thunderbirds on a successful performance and an outstanding representation of Shawnee Heights USD 450!

Senior Andrew Schulte qualified for the 5A state meet at the Aquinas Substate, running a Personal Record 17:09 to finish 13th in the race. Congratulations to him and all the runners on a great season!
10 FFA Members left bright and early Wednesday morning to head to the 99th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. This morning they’re attending Opening Session at Lucas Oil Stadium and later will attend the shopping mall and expo.
Rensday lunchtime high-five competition
Today we had Sara Jean with Oh My Goodies LLC share her story and inspiration with Mrs. Morrison’s 4th hour Culinary Essentials class. She inspired our students with not only her creativity in the art of cake design but also her cause to give back.

Internet shortages couldn't get our classes down yesterday! Since our current project is digital, we made a "hard pivot" and spent our time building camaraderie and boosting class morale through teambuilding games! Students learned the fun of "Farkle", an old school dice game that is part luck, part strategy. Thank goodness for silent foam dice!
Our juniors and seniors got to participate in our career fair today to visit with a variety of vendors. A huge thanks to Sara Gillespie and her crew for all of their work on this!

🏀 WHAT A DAY FOR SHAWNEE HEIGHTS UNIFIED! 🏀 Today we kicked off the 2026–2027 Unified season with our first games at Topeka West, and our athletes and partners were AWESOME! Our kids played their hearts out, competed together, supported each other, and most importantly, had FUN! These are the days that remind us what Unified Sports is all about. We are especially excited to welcome our new athletes and partners this season! Our Unified family continues to grow, and this year we are officially a club at Shawnee Heights! ❤️💙 What started as an opportunity to give more kids a chance to compete has become so much more. Friendships are being built. Confidence is growing. Students are finding a place to belong. And more kids are getting the opportunity to represent Shawnee Heights and experience what it means to be part of a team. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to cheer us on today and to everyone who continues to support our athletes, partners, and program.
