Students from Mr. Manbeck and Mr. Rafferty’s 10th grade ELA classes all wrote fables in their opening writing unit. Several student fables were selected and those authors traveled to each of the 4 elementary schools this morning to share their work with our youngest Thunderbirds!
Mrs. Hobby's freshman Geography students are currently learning about demography as it relates to human geography by analyzing historical population data and researching potential causes of the various changes.

🌟 Olivia O’Donnell, Special Education Teacher at Shawnee Heights High School, has been named our Secondary Horizon Award winner.
The Horizon Award recognizes outstanding educators early in their teaching careers who are already making a meaningful difference for students. Ms. O'Donnell was selected for the relationships she builds, her dedication to students, her willingness to grow and take on new challenges, and the positive impact she has made in our school community.
Ms. O'Donnell will now represent Shawnee Heights as one of our nominees for the Kansas Horizon Award!

Our football players have been traveling to our four elementary schools and get a chance to interact with our future T-Birds in our “Reading for Touchdowns” program. The players spend time in a classroom or gym, reading to them, interacting, and/or playing with them. This is a great opportunity for our players to pay forever their kindness to our schools.
Our staff got in on a little fun today with an Underground Spirit Day - socks with sandals.

It was Rensday at Shawnee Heights High School! Not to be confused with just a regular Wednesday. Today, all of our students got to celebrate No Hate with the #nohatetour. Then at lunch our students got to participate in Minute to Win It games. It was a great day at SHHS!
